I would just take everything he says, especially about the history of math, with a grain of salt. I know other people have noted that the book is a little western-centric in their reviews but I mean it's written by some old white man in the 60's. I've been kind of trying to get a better understanding of how different branches of math fit together and I think walking through the history of the development of math was helpful.
